Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible

Split Shot is made and published by Weronika Michałowicz, based in Poland. For anything in this policy — including a request to see or delete what we hold — write to info@instruktorwero.com.

Under the GDPR, that is the data controller for the limited processing described in section 3. For the app itself there is nothing to control, for the reasons in section 2.

2. The Split Shot app

What the app works with

Split Shot compares two videos of the same course of fire. To do that it reads:

• The two clips you pick, through the device's system video picker. You choose them; the app does not browse your library on its own.
• Each clip's recording date and time, taken from the video file or from what the picker reports, so the two runs can be told apart.
• The audio track, to find the start signal and the shots.
• The picture, to detect and follow the person shooting.

All of that happens on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere for processing.

What the app does not do

Split Shot performs its video and audio analysis locally. The app contains no account, upload, analytics or advertising feature, and it does not send your media or analysis to us. The iOS app requests Photos access so that it can read the metadata of videos you explicitly select and add the comparison videos you choose to export.

Split Shot does not:

• upload your videos, your analysis or your exports;
• report crashes, usage, telemetry or diagnostics;
• read an advertising ID or any other device identifier;
• show advertising, or load anything from a third party.

There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to. The app bundles no analytics, advertising or attribution libraries of any kind.

Where your material lives, and how to get rid of it

• Imported clips and analysis are held in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read.
• Exports you create are saved to Photos on iPhone and iPad. The forthcoming Android version will save them to the device gallery.
• Deleting a project in the app removes its clips and analysis.
• Uninstalling the app removes everything in its private storage. Videos you exported are yours and stay in your photo library until you delete them.

Because none of this ever reaches us, we cannot retrieve or delete it for you — and equally, we cannot lose it, be compelled to hand it over, or have it taken in a breach.

When you share an export

Sharing an export uses the device's standard share sheet. Once you send a video to another app — a messenger, a social network, cloud storage, email — that video is governed by that service's privacy policy, not this one. Please keep in mind that a range video may show other people who have not agreed to appear anywhere.

3. This website

Android launch notification

If you enter an email address into the sign-up form, we store that address and the date and time you submitted it — nothing else. We deliberately do not record your IP address or browser alongside it. It is kept in a file on our own server, in Poland.

We use it only to tell you when the Android version is available. We do not sell or rent the list and we do not send unrelated marketing.

Ask us at any time and we will delete your address.

Server logs

Like almost every web server, ours records each request. Those entries contain:

No cookies, no analytics, no third parties

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixels and no embedded third-party content. Fonts, images and the demo video are all served from this domain, so loading the page does not tell anyone else that you visited. That is why you were not asked to dismiss a cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.

4. Why we are allowed to hold this

For readers in the EU and UK, our legal bases under Article 6(1) GDPR are:

• Your consent — Art. 6(1)(a) — for the launch-notification address. You gave it by submitting the form, and you may withdraw it at any time by asking us to delete it.
• Our legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f) — for server logs, namely keeping the site running, secure and abuse-free. We keep them briefly and use them for nothing else.

5. Who else sees it

For the website itself, no one. We use no third-party mailing platform, form service, analytics provider, content delivery network or cloud host — it runs on our own hardware in Poland, and the sign-up file never leaves it. We would disclose data only if the law actually required it.

If we hold personal data about you — in practice, only a sign-up address or a log entry — you have the right to ask for a copy of it, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable form. Write to info@instruktorwero.com and we will respond within one month.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you may complain to the Polish supervisory authority, the Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych (ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, uodo.gov.pl), or to the authority where you live.

8. Children

Split Shot is a training tool for shooting-sports competitors and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted an address to sign up, tell us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

If the app or the site ever begins handling data differently, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Because the app has no network access, we cannot notify you inside it — so if this matters to you, check back here before updating.
